Identify electrical hotspots before they cause outages in low voltage transformers

Electrical hotspots in Low Voltage Transformers are a symptom of overheating joints or connections that have the potential to cause power outages

icon-q

Constant heating and cooling of electrical assets causes joint friction

icon-q

Poorly fitted or loose connections result in higher resistance

icon-q

Vibration or mechanical stress on joints can loosen them over time

icon-q

Heat within joints and connections can increase to the point of failure

Protect low voltage transformers with continuous thermal monitoring sensor technology

Sensor looms connects back to the MCC Datacard (MMD), which collects and transmits the Sensor temperature data, and activates alarms when a fault is detected. The MMD is housed in an external enclosure, along with the LEDs to provide local alarm status.

1. Sensor loom continuously monitors both the Voltage Input and Voltage Output connections

2. Sensor loom continuously monitors coil tap change connections

Features

The Low Voltage Transformer solution is suitable for both new build and retro-fit installation, and is also OEM vendor neutral.

Simple kit form

LV Transformer sensors from Exertherm are supplied in a kit form to make installation as simple as possible.

Continuous monitoring

Permanently installed sensors are fit-and-forget technology that continuously monitors the temperature of critical joints or connections.

High efficiency

This non-contact and non-powered solution creates it's own power supply from within the asset to monitor critical bus and joint connections.

Real-time data

Once installed the sensors work 24x7, 365 days a year to continuously monitor your critical electrical assets and provide condition data.
